As a rising hip-hop artist in the Toronto music scene, Zakisha Brown has proven unstoppable, breaking barriers and making waves globally. Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, racial upheaval, and economic uncertainty, she has risen above it all, releasing two singles that have quickly gained international attention.

Zakisha’s music is defined by its substance, storytelling, and authenticity. Her breakout tracks, “Purpose,” “Went to Ghana,” and “The Shift,” have resonated with audiences worldwide. The viral success of “Went to Ghana” caught the attention of global icons like Fuse ODG, Reggie Rockstone, Morgan Heritage, and Wodemaya, earning her a place on prominent Ghanaian music platforms. Over the past four years, Zakisha has spent significant time in Ghana, drawing inspiration from its rich culture and vibrant music scene.

Her transformative trip to Ghana in 2019, where she performed at the Afro Chic event during the historic Year of Return, became the foundation for her hit songs “Went to Ghana” and “Africa Home Again.” These tracks have propelled her to new heights, amassing 18,000 new followers and a growing global audience hungry for more. Zakisha’s lyrical prowess earned her the title of “Best Lyricist of the Year” in 2018, a testament to her unmatched delivery, flow, puns, and bars.
